David was born in Goshen, New York, and is the youngest of six children. David graduated from Boiling Springs High School in 1990 and from Presbyterian College in 1994. He graduated with a degree in political science and business. David always had a passion for helping people in matters they could not resolve on their own. That passion led David to the practice of law. Upon graduating from college, David attended the University of South Carolina School of Law and earned his juris doctor degree in 1997.
While in law school, David began clerking for the Law Offices of Joseph McCulloch, Jr. in Columbia, South Carolina. Joe McCulloch is one of the preeminent criminal defense lawyers in the state and is renowned as a great trial attorney. He is also widely known in the area of DUI law. Upon graduating from law school, David began working as a lawyer at the firm and practiced extensively in the area of criminal defense as a trial attorney. David gained extensive court and trial experience while with the firm and learned how to practically resolve cases to his clients' advantage in the legal system. In 2003, David decided it was time to spread his wings and open his own firm. At that point, David began sharing space with state and nationally recognized criminal defense attorney Jack B. Swerling, Esquire, on Main Street in Columbia. David continued to focus his practice in the areas of criminal defense but also began to expand his practice in family law cases.
After going through his own divorce and gaining full custody of his three-year-old twins, David relocated back upstate to be closer to family. David has been through his own life struggles and made it through them, coming out stronger and wiser for surviving and successfully overcoming them. He is a firm believer in the saying, "That which does not kill you only makes you stronger." He applies his legal and personal experiences to his cases and aggressively advocates and fights for his clients.
David began practicing at his firm in Duncan, South Carolina, in August 2013. He is married to Amanda Braghirol, and they have a blended family of five children ages 21, 13, 12, 12, and 11. Amanda is now the office manager and paralegal for Braghirol Law Firm P.C.. They enjoy working together on a daily basis and focusing on their practice and family. Together they make a great team, and their relationship and open communication truly assist them in taking care of their clients.
David primarily practices in Spartanburg, Greenville, Cherokee, and Richland counties. However, he routinely travels and practices across the state in all courts.
